Try reaching into the minds of two very different women in a very unlikely yet deep friendship riding along a tumultuous situation with a humor that was well crafted in the characters as well as in the style of writing. If you can then you have an idea how great reading this book was !I do not usually like reading about the probable conclusion of a book at the beginning as it was in this novel , but eventually it did not in anyway ruin the novel for me and I have to say it worked. I also don t like depressive painful themes The world is hard enough as it is but I have to say again this entire book worked !
Deeply moving, poignant and beautifully crafted . I loved Libby and Anne 's friendship. May I be such a friend too!

I absolutely LOVED this book! Roxanne Henke is a very gifted author who makes you feel like you are part of her characters lives and each of her stories has a very beautiful moral touch. I downloaded this book because I LOVED it the first time I read it and wanted to read it again on the go. After Anne is the first of a series of books and I have read all of Roxanne Henke's books including those not part of the series. If she had another book in the works I would be in line at the bookstore! She makes you feel like you are reading about your friends!
This book was written in a different, almost conversational style that I quickly grew to love. A wonderful story of friendship, family, and faith. Will be reading more books by Roxanne Henke.
For me, After Anne is a life-changer. What kind of a friend am I? What kind of friends are my current friends? Do we complement each other?
I loved the way the author was able to change voices from chapter to chapter and reflect the values and beliefs of each character.
Simply put - a lovely, challenging read that kept me thinking long after I turned the final page. That's a winner.
Great book and very poignant in my life right now. My mom handed this book to me as she began her own Journey with cancer. This is not a feel good book, so if you're looking for happily ever after reading, this is not the book for you. Roxanne, Henke does a masterful job of dealing with the emotional journey that surrounds not only the woman with cancer, but all those who cross her path; especially the effect on the family and friends that lover her. It is a story of love and forgiveness, struggle and triumph, sorrow and joy. I can't wait to read another of Roxanne Henke's books!
Even though I knew this would be a sad book with a predictable ending, the author showed how a strong friendship that developed between two women could reveal God's love and concern for each of us. Anne displayed amazing strength of Christian faith that made a lasting impression on everyone around her. The descriptions of her chemo and radiation experiences were so real and vivid for the reader. It was difficult to believe her mother and sister could be unaffected by what she went through. This book shows the effect our lives can have on others. We all need friends like these two women were.
After Anne - Loved it. While reading Anne and Olivia's story I wondered how I would act or react to a serious illness. Would I handle it with grace knowing God is in control, would I be a good friend to someone with a serious illness, or would I do the easy thing and be a 'call me if you need something' friend, not stepping up to the plate and filling a need before being asked.
I loved Anne's faith, and I appreciated Olivia struggle in this story. I really enjoyed Roxanne's story telling from both ladies point of view.
This book is an easy read, with a few tears.
Such a tender story of love.....between friends, spouses, mother and children, and with our Heavenly Father. Two women become the kind of friends most of us only hope for where they are willing to do anything for each other. Roxanne Henke writes an emotional story of Anne discovers she has breast cancer while pregnant for the first time. Anne depends on God for strength while her new friend, Libby, doesn't know much about God's love. I highly recommend this book to others but be prepared for tears.
